I am pleased to be able to offer a variety of illustrated talks to local groups. Please browse these pages for information on individual talks
Information
Most of my in-person talks are given within Berkshire and the northern parts of Hampshire and Surrey, but I sometimes travel further afield, by arrangement.
During the Coronavirus lockdown I began giving talks remotely using Zoom, and I am happy to continue this method of presentation.
The presentations are in PowerPoint (digital) format. If your meeting room does not have projection facilities then I am happy to bring my own screen and projector as well as laptop.
Most talks last about an hour but can be extended or shortened to fit the available time slot - please let me know when booking
Generally I ask for a donation to charity instead of a fee. In the case of the National Trust talks, a donation to the National Trust is required. I normally also require travel expenses from Sandhurst, Berkshire
About Me
I have been a keen amateur photographer since schooldays and all the talks are illustrated with my own photographs.
I became interested in the National Trust around 1980, and I visit numerous properties, taking a special interest in countryside and coastline as well as enjoying stately homes and gardens. I helped set up a members’ club in Hertfordshire, and was on the committee of the former South East Berkshire National Trust Association in various roles for over 20 years. I help to lead walks for the National Trust based on its Wey Navigations property, and for several years I was also a volunteer tour guide at Shalford Mill, a National Trust property near Guildford.
