Alongside its portfolio of houses and gardens, the National Trust owns many water mills and windmills, and some of its rural and coastal properties have easily discernible traces of our industrial past. There are also several major industrial heritage sites such as Aberdulais Falls and Quarry Bank Mill. Some properties have links with scientists and engineers such as Newton, Marconi, and Armstrong, and others are concerned with our transport heritage.
The talk includes a brief overview of the National Trust and an introduction to many of the properties with industrial connections.
The talk is intended to be of general interest to a non technical audience.
